Buying the store and other stuff.

So much has happened in the last few months. We are in the process of buying Robert's family store in Henderson, TN. Robert moved up there almost a month ago to start working at the store while we wait for the closing. The closing should be early next week. He is staying at his Grandparent's house until we can find a house. I am still in school for another year so I am staying in Denham Springs with my parents until I graduate. It's hard, but we are both busy. I am in summer school and we call it "bootcamp" and it's very time consuming. It only lasts the month of June but makes it difficult to get up to TN to see Robert. Robert is doing really well in the store. When we got up there the guy who was running it before pretty much left us with no stock so Robert has been working on restocking and making it look like a real store. I just can't wait to get a house and move up there with him. : ) We only have 63 days until the wedding! I picked up my wedding dress today!! I ordered Robert's band earlier this past week. Mrs. Dawn booked the restaurant for the rehearsal dinner, we'll be having it at Cocodrie's in Denham. I should be stuffing and addressing envelopes so they can be mailed out this week. Well I think that's it for now.

Long Overdue

Well last time I wrote the semester had just begun. Now we are more than halfway through it and let me just say we are busy! We are just trucking along with the wedding plans. We have now booked all major items (photographer, florist, reception, caterer, etc). Robert has picked out his ring and I've picked out my band. We are going to order the invitations this weekend and finish registering. The only thing we really have left to do are get tents, and the rehearsal dinner set. Well we are some boring people, as I have nothing left to update you with!

Catching Up

Classes started back this week. This semester I am in my first semester of methods...this is going to be a lot this semester. Makes me glad that we are not getting married in March like I had originally hoped. We are making progress on everything though. We have put down the deposits on the flowers and reception hall. We have the church booked and were able to see the inside of the new sanctuary!!! It's so pretty! We have pretty much decided on the caterer and are just waiting on a quote. I found "the" dress and we are going to Brookhaven, MS to get it this Saturday!!! I am going to call the bakery I want to use to set up a consultation for the cakes. Rob's cake is going to be so cool if we can get someone do it. I also have to contact the photographer I want to use. If you want to see her work her site is www.katymarshallphotography.com . She does amazing work and i love her use of natural light. Robert's friends are all ready for the Bachelor party, haha.
This was our weekend to have Nathan and we took he, Chase, and Zach to see Yes Man. It was hilarious! Howerever, it was not appropriate for their age group. Nathan had already seen it so we figured it would be ok, there were two scenes that made us say that Nathan can no longer choose the movie we go see.
Robert has been busy working on the house when he is not working with Kelly. He and Mr. Sid got all of the baseboards and shoe molding put down, he is working on laying the tile in the bathroom. Sears came Saturday and Monday to put up the vinyl siding. It looks really nice having it all up now.
That's about all we have been up to, we'll hopefully have something more to write about soon enough. Have a good one!

The painting by Emily

The ring bearer

My ring!

We're getting married!!

My Christmas present was wonderful and unexpected! Everyone decided that each person would open all of their presents while everyone else watched. Nathan and Robert decided that I would go first. I start opening my presents and got to the present from Nathan, Emily, and Dudley. Emily painted the "blue dog" with an engagement ring in its mouth. This is when I started shaking, haha. I turn to look at Robert, who is holding Gizmo, and he starts taking my ring off of Gizmo's collar. I realized then that I had stopped breathing and took a deep breath to try and calm myself. Robert had me stand while he got down on one knee and told me that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. Of course I said yes! We are getting married on August 8, 2009 at Live Oak Methodist Church.
